Iraj Gorgin: Journalist - Irvine (May 19, 2007)Iraj Gorgin is a Prague-based veteran broadcaster who regularly contributes to RFE/RL and Radio Farda. He previously worked as deputy director of Radio Azadi and director of Radio Omid Iran in Los Angeles. He holds a BA in literature from University of Tehran and an MA in communications from University of Southern California. He was the director of Iranian National TV (Channel 2) during the Pahlavi Era. He underwent corrective heart surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona in January of 2007. He appeared in good spirits at the the Re-Imagining Iran Symposium at UCI in May of 2007. Gorgin credits the Mayo Clinic for saving his life. Related Links |
